Convocation is Coming!
Every year, Synty and I try to give people a small preview of what we’re teaching. Last year we took the year off (and we’re flattered by the protests over that!) This year we’re back and we have coordinated what we’re teaching. This year our workshops will help you develop your psychism/intuition into a trust of yourself (Magickal Modalities), set up a a relationship with a spirit so you have help knowing what spirits to trust (Synty’s, find the title), and learn to identify a variety of spirits (Spirit identification in the field.)
As a bonus, Diana is also bringing an Urban Magick ritual that calls for inner and outer spiritual work - the Ecstasy of the Urban Shadow.
General Protocol and Etiquette
While Diana and Synty aren’t wildly formal, they do have a few rules of operation when they teach. Because they believe in informed consent, they often write up a bit about each of their events to help people get a feel for what they’re doing/planning so that people are well-informed far ahead of time.
When we conduct rituals, we do not raise circles or construct containment barriers. We work with animistic spirits - the sorts that the barriers and containments are made from.
Here’s what we do instead:
The Laws of Hospitality
The Laws of Hospitality are an ancient concept and agreement that “I am safe with you, and you are safe with me.” We are all guests of the Convocation organizers, and when in our classrooms, you and any spirits that come with you are guests. We require everyone to respect those who are also receiving the hospitality we provide. That means keeping your physical and energetic “hands” to yourself, not talking over one another, and putting on your Big Person pants when someone says something you dislike or that makes you uncomfortable.
If you believe that any group doesn’t deserve to exist based on some sense of unjustified hierarchy, you are not what we consider a guest.
Consent is Sacred
If you come in and find the experience we offer is not for you, it is okay to leave. Your autonomy will be respected.
Respect Given is Respect Earned
We’re in a weird age of occult knowledge, where some people have only social media and lived experience, and others have decades of dedicated study and practice. One of the big cultural gaps that Diana and Synty are seeing as beings dwelling between these approaches? How respect is defined.
Diana and Synty do not believe that respect means someone with no prior relationship agreement should be deferred to or obeyed. In fact, expecting obedience from strangers is a red flag to both of them.
They both operate on the principle that respect allows people to be themselves, so long as doing so honors others' boundaries and the agreed constraints on why they are gathering. So if a person is teaching a class, that person deserves the respect of attention. Since classes take a lot of personal time and effort to construct, allowing the instructor to be heard first is paramount. The person teaching honors the students giving their time and attention by doing their best to make that time worthwhile. (It needs to be understood that what is worthwhile to each individual is impossible to predict, ergo if it’s not for you, it’s okay to leave and leaving shows respect for those who wish to stay.)
Metaphysical Risks
While Diana and Synty make an effort to reduce the risks of unusual events during their classes and rituals, sometimes things just do. While they can’t take responsibility for anything a person already carries coming in, if something unbalanced happens during their class as a result of their teaching, they will do their best to return the person to equilibrium immediately after the class. If the imbalance persists after the event, they will work with the impacted parties in a single Zoom session to identify the issue and restore a healthy balance.
We do ask that attendees make every effort to be self-responsible.
Follow-up Education and Sessions
Diana and Synty both offer online Zoom sessions for spiritual concerns. Synty’s expertise is in deep shadow work, and Diana’s is in curse diagnostics and divination, such as Tarot. If you take one of these workshops and decide you’d like more, we encourage you to sign up for Diana’s Substack or Patreon. The Patreon also has membership levels that include a personal monthly tarot check-in.
The Workshops
Now that you know our protocol and style, here is a brief overview of each workshop. What Synty and Diana designed for 2026 is interwoven - if you take all three workshops, you ideally will walk away with a complete set of psychic and spirit communication skills.
For the Magickal Modalities course.
Diana designed Magickal Modalities in response to requests made following the Spirit Identification in the field class. Some people sensed nothing; others questioned what they did sense. Diana has found that most people can receive psychic perception, even without altered states. They just need to know what’s happening and overcome the training most of us get to tune everything out.
While psychic and spiritual perception is a skill that builds over time, many people struggle to know where to start. For this class, we skip the pineal gland (important, but in Diana's opinion a little advanced) and shift to our 5 best-known senses. Often, people receive psychic/spiritual information just fine and don't know it. Diana will help people see that how they learn/process information is also how they often receive psychic information. Ultimately, the class is an exercise in developing self-trust.
We encourage you to bring a notebook/diary and pen to class, or record the session if that works better for you. We only ask that you NOT redistribute the material without our consent.
Spirit Identification in the Field is what Diana jokingly refers to as figure modeling class with spirits. Diana and Synty invite a series of distinct spirits to model for the class. It gives people an opportunity to know how they perceive different spirit types, and get a sense of their bodily and emotional reactions to them.
Once you learn how you identify spirits, and learn how to recognize them - spirits may start approaching you. Synty teaches you what to do to develop a relationship with a spirit that operates as a “bouncer.” The spirit world is the wild kingdom - and this is an important skill for staying safe!
