Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Resources

General Resources and Donations for Texas Hill Country Flood Relief

As we learned last year when the Carolinas got hit by a hurricane, there is such a thing as good help and bad help. Good help is listening to the people coordinating care, and telling you clearly what they need. Bad help is sending or dumping off used goods, clothing, etc., that no one requested, which ends up making more work for people under monumental amounts of stress.

The best help right now: select an agency, and donate money. If you're looking for in-kind donations, consider the three most overlooked items: feminine hygiene products (period panties are great in these situations), diapers, and can openers. But mostly, what works best? Sending cash.

The list I have here is far from comprehensive, especially since I am unfamiliar with central Texas. I hope it provides good donation spots and valuable information for those in need of a little extra support right now.
